Scott Watrous, Chief Strategist

Scott started in book sales and marketing with Simon & Schuster in 1983, and moved to Random House 3 years later. As Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Client Distribution, he was in charge of the most profitable division in the company, responsible for tens of thousands of books across all distribution outlets. 

In 2000 he moved from the New York scene and became Chief Operating Officer and Publisher at Adams Media, leading the team to a leadership position in general nonfiction and self help, and spearheading the sale of Adams Media and merger with F&W. 

After stepping in as President and Publisher of Globe Pequot Press in 2005, Watrous engineered a complete company makeover, including acquisition of two UK publishers, and the creation of Skirt! Books, a cutting edge imprint whose first book was Crazy Sexy Cancer, introducing Kris Carr to the marketplace.
